Resorts World Sentosa’s ESPA: My next destination?

After performing extensive research on holiday destinations, I’m currently toying with the idea of a staycation cum spa day at the award-winning ESPA.

I was leaning heavily on going to one of the tropical, ClubMed beach resorts, but after reading a scathing article from XiaXue about her Bintan experience, I changed my mind.

Granted, she did not go to a ClubMed resort and it was several years ago, but her remarks about how commercialized  it was put me off. When I spoke to my colleague about it, she echoed a similar experience.

XiaXue’s article also brought up something that hadn’t occurred to me; sandfly bites.

When I was in Ngee Ann Polytechnic I bore witness to a friend’s horrendous sandfly bites. Those marks were nasty and her legs were scattered with them. She looked like a diseased woman, and even today, the mental imagery makes my skin crawl. To make matters worse, the scars lasted for months. It looked like she was recovering from a few rounds of shotgun fire.

I’m not paying good money to become a buffet for sandflies. I’d be very angry if I came home with a ton of bites.

I am now considering a staycation at Resorts World Sentosa with a day spa package at ESPA. ESPA looks magnificent and I wouldn’t mind being pampered like a baby.

Besides, I’ve never experienced a spa package before, let alone one at a world-class spa resort.

It could be a great way to get away from work, get some exercise, work on my tan and spend all day by the pool. I haven’t made any firm plans yet, but I may book something as soon as March.
