Advertising and Public Relations

I am a consummate Marketing Communications Professional. Unlike most other Mass Communications graduates, I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty and experiment with technology.

I privately and openly experiment with emerging technologies and social media platforms to keep myself on the bleeding edge of the future. In fact, this blog serves as a sandbox for me to play around in and to sharpen my technical abilities. I’m fearless in trying out new technologies and learning how to produce all kinds of media.

If it’s related to the media, chances are I handle it.

I currently work as a Social Media and Communications Specialist at Nanyang Polytechnic. I have the unique perspective of having worked on both the Agency and Client side. Some of my previous employers include Mentis Marketing, Red Dawn Communications (now Mulberry PR), Redworks (Ogilvy & Mather) and the Ministry of Community Development Youth and Sports (President’s Challenge).

I have performed works for clients such as: Coca Cola, Nokia, DHL, Nestle (Gerber), the Economic Board of Singapore and the People’s Association Youth Movement to name a few.

I have never ‘pulled strings’ to get a job. I’m proud to state that my employers choose me due to my ability, creativity and resourcefulness.

I once had a boss who described me as ‘principled’ and ‘passionate’ during an appraisal. I agree and I wouldn’t want to live or work any other way.

In addition to my technical ability, I am also known for my sharp assessments, elegant solutions and strategic stewardship. My critique is unapologetically honest with an occasional dash of wit.

This results in an interesting blend of  Advertising/Public Relations commentary that you can read here.
