Job Interview Tips

At my previous office, I had an intern serving under my instruction. I’m a pretty nice boss and I strongly believe that it is of paramount importance to provide an enjoyable working environment for those under your charge. Therefore, I had shared with him some of my working experience, hoping that he would find the information useful. One area of particular interest was job interview tips.
As a young man, I have attended several interviews. I’ve been informed that I interview well, so I hope you will not find it immodest of me to share some nuggets of wisdom I have collected in regards to this subject.

1. Make an Impression
When you attend a job interview, it is important to remember that many others may be applying for the job. It is important to leave a favorable and lasting impression on your potential employer. Don’t be afraid to stand out!

2. Know What You’re Worth
I am ashamed to say that I have previously made this mistake. If you’re a talent individual who’s a cut above the rest, don’t sell yourself short. You need to be able to realize when you’re too good for something. If you are overqualified for a position, don’t take it unless your employers make it worth your while.

3. Know What The Job Is Worth
It is imperative that you are able to recognize if the position you are applying for is considerably higher than your abilities. If it is and you want the job, make sure you angle yourself appropriately.

4. Demonstrate ‘Soft’ Skills
This is one of the most important aspects of the interview. Employers are constantly looking for candidates with remarkable soft skills. If you posses outstanding soft skills, some employers may even ignore deficiencies in your CV. But what are soft skills?

The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently is one such skill. So is self-confidence, drive and creativity. Of course, it so helps if you are a likeable person. The next time you attend an interview, remember to ask question and play an active role in the interview process.
