Ramirez launches composite top and raised fingerboard

Today I recieved an e-mail from GuitarSalonInternational highlighting the new ‘Auditorio’ model from the Ramirez guitar workshop.

This model features a composite double top and a raised fingerboard. It is widely known that Amalia Ramirez was experimenting with composite tops for some time. But I was suprised that they are actually developing it into an actual product.

I’m quite keen to try one. I have a feeling it will be very expensive though. I wonder if Thomas Liauw has any of these models in stock.

I’m also eager to see how Ramirez implements the raised fingerboard. My Barnett guitar was built with a raised fingerboard in the style of Gregory Byers. In my opinion, this method of construction yields greater playability than the one pioneered by Thomas Humphrey.

I wonder which system Ramirez is using…
