My Aluminium Samsung Galaxy S4

Ok, it’s not really made of aluminum, but it’s close! Shortly after I decided to buy the Samsung Galaxy S4 and before I actually went to the store to get one, I ordered a metallic back battery cover for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on ebay. I wanted to pre-empt some of the complaints I read about the plasticky build quality, which eventually proved to be unfounded for me.

It arrived a few days ago, and I have been rocking it on my phone since.

It’s very nice and I prefer it over the original back cover. It’s a little bit heavier, but because it features a lightly-polished metal surface on top of the plastic cover, it’s less slippery than the original.

It feels great in the hand, and it looks like something Samsung would have made. The white plastic isn’t exactly the same colour as the original nor does it have the same faint pattern but it’s really close. It’s very difficult to tell the white is different unless you are very familiar with the phone, and you look very closely. It’d say the white used in this back cover is about 95% the same.

That’s another reason why I love the Samsung Galaxy S4. It’s very easy to customize the physical features of the phone. Maybe I’ll buy the metallic red one for National Day so that I can flaunt my patriotism!
